Two months and a half since the last update… We know it's a very long time but we've been awfully busy since then.
First of all, the editing of the band's 2 hours DVD "En route pour ?" (On the Road to?) has been an extremely time consuming job. You can imagine the time of editing as well as the time of translation and subtitling to make a DVD that everybody can watch and understand.
Then, Jean-Philippe is the "good godfather" of two bands in his school : 2 COOL 4 SCHOOL and THE TAXI BOYZ. He has been working with the kids helping them to record songs. THE TAXI BOYZ's Mirage of Youth took a lot of time because of the drums editing. 1000 copies have been pressed in Thailand but unfortunately the finished products are stuck at the Cambodian customs along with THOM THOM's DVDs. So all the paper work and phone calls to try to fix things have been a waste of time and energy preventing the drummer to do his internet duty. Never mind!
So the website has been updated.
You will finally find live videos, all the press clippings have been added and the pictures gallery has also been finally completed; the latter was indeed very poor.
What's next?
The big thing now for the next four months is the writing of Jean-Philippe's PHD. It's his fifth and final year and the writing of the last 300 pages is the "only" thing separating from this degree.
So, as the DVD is finished, now it's time for promotion and finding a European tour manager. As there won't be instantaneous tasks, it should give the drummer the time to finish his academic work.
The band hopes to hit the road for a European tour after September.

Well, it's been a while since the drummer found the time to sit in front of a computer in order to give some news about the band.
Here is 2008...
THOM THOM had announced dates outside Cambodia for the new year; well that's done. Indeed, The band took off on Friday 25th to fly to Kuala Lumpur for a performance at "Help University College" on Saturday 26th. On Sunday 27th, THOM THOM hit the road in direction of Penang for a concert on the same day at the "New World Park".
Back to Phnom Penh on Monday 28th to work on the finalisation of the DVD that should be sent to the Thai plant in February.
The band keeps on rehearsing and writing new tunes.
The goal for 2008 is finding a European tour manager. We keep our fingers crossed!

Finally the English version of the site is now available.
THOM THOM is currently working on the preparation of the three big concerts at Battambang on November 2nd, 3rd and 4th in PHARE PONLEU SELPAK that will be used to make a live DVD.
Nalen has also just got a brand-new electro-acoustic bass guitar and the band is now working on an “unplugged” adaptation of its repertoire. The first “grinding” concerts will take place in December in Phnom Penh where the band would only perform that way keeping for once at bay the big and loud amps.
